The report titled, “Indonesia Plastic Pipes and Fittings Market Outlook to 2023 – By PVC, PE, ABS, PP, PVDF Pipes and By End-User Application (Water Supply and Irrigation, Sewage, Mining, Cable Protection and Others)” by Ken Research concludes that the rising demand for plastic pipes and fittings in Indonesia would be met by an increase in the production capacity of the companies operating in the market.
“Projects have been undertaken by the Government to improve the Irrigation and Sanitation Facilities which have contributed to the demand for plastic pipes and fittings in Indonesia.”
Investments in Infrastructural Projects: Government Projects such as the construction of Flyovers, Mass Rapid Transit and New Priok Port in Jakarta have served as a major growth driver for the Indonesia Plastic Pipes and Fittings Market. The demand for plastic pipes and fittings was deeply affected by construction projects.
Public and Private Investments in the Residential Sector: The forthcoming annual apartment supply in Jakarta will likely to be significant in number, around 20,200 units in 2019 and 14,300 units in 2020. Given the robust response for affordable housing projects underpinned by the healthy demand from end-users, gives optimism for the robust pipeline of new launches coming from the middle-lower segment. Along with water supply networks, the sewerage channels are being improvised and expanded by the Government. Big real estate developers are becoming more agile in launching mid-low class projects and might target less favorable locations on the outskirts of Jakarta, where they can set a more competitive price compared to downtown.
Government Projects for Irrigation Facilities: In Indonesia, a major proportion of the population depends on agriculture for its livelihood. The Government along with international organizations has been investing in this sector through projects such as Integrated Participatory Development and Management of the Irrigation Sector Project to improve the lives of the rural shareholders and expand the irrigation network in various regions of the country. This has been creating an upsurge in the demand for plastic pipes and fittings in Indonesia.
Increase in the demand of water Supply Projects: Indonesia has recently (2017) received a World Bank Loan of USD 100 Million for its National Urban Water Supply Project for provisioning of sanitation and water supply to about six million people. The central government would channel water-related investments to 40 local governments and water supply enterprises and will universalize safe drinking water by 2019. The Government of Indonesia initiated the construction of Small Scale Community Sewerage Systems (SANIMAS) to improve the urban sanitation. Approximately 1700 Decentralized Waste Water Treatment Systems had been constructed until 2015 in Indonesia.
